What is Yoga

Yoga is an integral system developed by the ancient sages of India to keep the physical and mental faculties strong in order to evolve our consciousness and spirit. It is a science of health, harmony and spiritual progress.

Yoga comprises several principles: exercise, breath control, relaxation, nutrition, meditation, philosophy and positive thinking.

Yoga first focuses on physical health: strengthening the muscles, massaging and stimulating the internal organs and improving posture.

Practicing yoga poses with deep breathing, relaxation and concentration also develops mental control.

Proper breathing circulates vital energy, deep relaxation removes stress and anxiety, a good diet provides fuel for the body, meditation develops heart and spirit.

Understanding yogic philosophy, psychology and spirituality leads to a fuller comprehension of an individual's strengths & weaknesses, personal mission and therefore his value, significance and place in the world.
