Schedule: Arrival: Friday 25th July after 7pm 

Course Schedule: Saturday, Sunday & Monday from 9:30 – 12am 

and afternoons from 2:30 – 5pm

Accomodation: book your own hotel in Poggibonsi or sleep in dormitory at the yoga centre “Holismos” (3 nights € 45). 

Price:  € 12O (course only) or £ 120

Food: There are many restaurants and bars in the town and “Holismos” is situated in the town centre.

Booking: Send a deposit of € 60 or £ 60.

How to get there

Fly to Pisa then by train or bus from Pisa. If you are already in Tuscany you can reach Poggibonsi easily from Florence or Siena.

Course program

Interdisciplinary yoga course; will be of interest to any students of yoga. Beginners are also welcome.

 

Asanas: tailoring yoga postures to each persons individual capacities and needs.

Therapeutic use of yoga postures to

a) stimulate specific functions e.g. digestive, respiratory, nervous etc.

b) relieve specific problems e.g. back-ache, stress, constipation, anxiety etc.

Meditation and Chanting

Guided meditation: visualisations to explore energy centres or “chakras” and how to circulate energy  or “prana”.

Relaxation: relaxing the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.

Philosophy and aim of yoga.

Teacher

 

Gerry Rixen is a qualified yoga teacher registered with the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre but also practised the Iyengar style for several years.

He’s a professional Shiatsu therapist and teacher (since 1992) and founder and director of the Shiatsu and Yoga school SYM. He teaches in France, Sweden, Italy and Greece.

Gerry is also a 4th Dan Shorinji Kempo instructor (japanese martial art) and he has studied Yoga, Shiatsu and Shorinji Kempo with many internationally recognised teachers in the UK, Europe, Japan and Brazil.

After completing his studies at  Cambridge University he  worked as a language teacher and journalist before dedicating his life full-time to Shiatsu and Yoga. Gerry speaks English, French, German and Spanish.
